The land of canals, windmills and tulips, Holland is particularly enchanting during the springtime, when the country’s famous multi-coloured bulb-fields are in full bloom, but there is plenty to see and do here at any time of year. In Amsterdam visit the world-famous Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum or take a leisurely sightseeing trip on the canals, spend time admiring the millions of flowers in the lovely Keukenhof Gardens, or cruise the River Rhine, which flows through the country towards its mouth on Holland’s North Sea coast.
Golf in the Netherlands is unique and strong; much like the country itself and its culture. There is an impressive pedigree and variety of courses; many sections of the countryside are blessed with rolling terrain and sandy soil (which is ideal for building top courses).
The British design firm of Harry Colt, Charles Allison & John Morrison played a strong hand early in the last century with many of these classic courses in the Netherlands, working them into their travel schedules along with the likes of Toronto GC and Hamilton GC in Canada plus revered places like Sunningdale in England and Pine Valley in New Jersey.Share this tour
