After breakfast and transfer the Royal Gems Golf & sports club.Royal Gems Golf Club is one of only a handful of Thailand golf courses to be an official member of the United States Golf Association and certified for professional championships. The club hosted a European Seniors Tour event in 2009. The environment around the Bangkok course is enjoyable and natural parkland. Royal Gems plays to 7,107 yards and features a handful of lakes, narrow fairways, thick rough, large bunkers and fast greens. The member’s only course is one of most stylish of all the golf courses in the greater Bangkok area.  Royal Gems has a mixture of American, Scottish and Thai features. Visitor play is allowed if staying at the onsite resort or booked through authorised agents.

After Breakfast, transfer to the Sea Pines Golf Club. also known as the Army Golf Club II. play along the Gulf of Thailand in the Suan Son Pradiphat Sea Pine Tree Garden. The Royal Forestry Department originally owned the Hua Hin golf course track before being taken over by the Royal Thai Army under the rule of Field Marshall Sarit Thanarat, who served as prime minister of Thailand during 1957-1963. The par-5 12th hole is one of the most challenging, as the design affords it protection in the form of fairway bunkers and a water hazard along the right-hand side. Moreover, a small bunker located towards the middle of the fairway, creates a dilemma – go for a driver from the tee, or ‘play it safe’ by opting for a ‘lay-up’ approach?

Over the years, Black Mountain has played host to a variety of professional golf events, including the Thailand Classic. Today, Black Mountain is a frequent PGA tour stop for both Asian and European tours. The majority of the Sea Pines area houses bracken pine trees enriched by the beauty of oceans and mountains. The army originally developed the site as a form of retreat for serving soldiers and veterans and their families. The Sea Pines course layout has been developed to provide golfers with a wide variety of challenge. Depending on wind conditions, the course can play from relatively easy to very difficult. The course design includes six holes lying on the beachside and the rest of the holes towards the mountains divided by the railroad.

The traditional Jack Nicklaus designed Springfield Royal Country Club located off the Hua Hin bypass road is one of the best Hua Hin golf courses, and as good as they come. The course at Springfield has been designed to meet the high demands of a recognized championship golf course, and yet it remains an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. Each hole has a minimum of five tees to play from, but only the brave, and those regularly rub shoulders with the world’s best will venture from the black tee. Water hazards periodically come into play, and each hole presents its challenge and character requiring finesse or unrestraint. Accuracy is needed at all times as the rough comprises of a series of hillocks and holes lined by a forest of mature trees. Nicklaus designs love to catch the player out who hits a poor weak fade, and the back nine when tiredness begins to creep in can punish with either a massive waste bunker or water down the right-hand side of the fairways. On the other hand, keep it straight, and this course will reward as it is not exceptionally long.

Banyan Golf Club in Hua Hin opened in October 2008. Immediately following, the course was awarded 2009 Best New Course in Asia-Pacific by the readers of Asian Golf Monthly. Since then Banyan Golf Club course, clubhouse, and staff have consistently claimed ‘Top 3 in Asia’ awards and have been featured in the ‘Rolex Top 1000’ in the World. Thailand golf course architect Pirapon Namatra from Golf East designed the world class 18-hole championship golf course and is known to be one of the most natural in the country. The course provides for spectacular mountain and ocean views from almost all of the holes and is one of the best layouts in Hua Hin. Each hole has six tee boxes making the course more or less challenging depending on each golfer’s ability and tee selection. Strategically placed water hazards, waste bunkers, and sand traps are spread out throughout the course. Significant use of native pineapple groves makes local fruits come into play if straying too far off the fairways. Be careful, pineapple plants are sharp and scratch easily.

Set in a valley surrounded by huge black granite rock covered mountains, the Hua Hin golf course was the site for Asian PGA tour events in 2009 and 2010 and the Europe versus Asia match play Royal Trophy in 2011. In 2012 and each year since Black Mountain was selected as one of the 100 best golf courses outside the USA by Golf Digest magazine. In 2014 Black Mountain hosted The Thailand Classic, the first European Tour event to be staged in Thailand. The Thailand Classic also held in 2015 and 2016, is now a major fixture on the European and Asian Tours. Also outstanding is the signature 11th hole, a par-3 over water to an island green. With no bail-out area and an all-water carry, club selection is critical to a dry landing and birdie chance. Otherwise, the generous drop area to the left of the green minimizes high scores and at least provides an excellent “wet bogey” opportunity for most Hua Hin golfers.
