Portugal might be most famous for its glorious beaches, but there’s a lot more to this country than golden sands. Whether you’re dreaming of the mainland or the volcanic island of Madeira, our Portugal tours can show you captivating cities, historic hill towns, rolling countryside, and subtropical landscapes.
Once a powerful seafaring kingdom that dominated the merchant routes to Africa, South America, and the Orient, today, the legacy of Portugal’s former wealth and power can still be seen in its beautifully historic cities; the capital, Lisbon, is superbly sited on the Tejo river estuary, with its grand monuments and maze of medieval alleyways it is a delight to explore.
Porto meanwhile, the country’s second city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the best place to sample some of the many varieties of Portugal’s other notable contribution to the world, port wine. As a Catholic country, there are ancient churches in every community – and while support for the institutions of the Church may have waned, a belief in traditional values remains.
After visiting Porto, sightseeing, and wine-sipping, you’ll slowly meander through the UNESCO-protected Douro River Valley, admiring views of terraced vineyards and stopping off to explore historic cities, castles, and palaces.
Having risen to the top of the ranks as one of Europe’s premier golfing destinations, Portugal now has a total of 75 golf courses with 31 of them in the Algarve. Boasting a vast array of picturesque courses skirting the stunning coastline, the Algarve still remains the country’s golfing hotspot with the Nicklaus-designed Monte Rei Resort being at the forefront of this. The emerging stars of the country are the fantastic courses surrounding the capital Lisbon.
Portugal is truly a golfer’s dream.

It can be described by using the Portuguese word “Saudade,” which means “longing” and stands for a feeling of loss.
